One Way to Improve Your Testing Skills
There are many testers who look forward to improve their testing skills. They do their best to attend different trainings in testing field. In trainings, those testers will meet the trainer who has experience in the topic in addition to other participants looking forward to gain knowledge and improve.There will be sharing of skills, knowledge and experience related to the training topic as well and this will add to testing skills of the participants. However, is there any other wider and better way to to improve your testing skills by getting in touch with more experts and colleagues and in different testing topics at the same time?
One way I find it very useful to get in touch with more testing experts and colleagues in different testing topics is to attend testing conferences. The wonderful part in those conferences is that you can meet many speakers and experts in addition to participants. Attending conference sessions and participating in the discussions will add a lot to your skills, knowledge and experience in testing. Moreover, this does not end by the end of the conference. You can also get connected with the speakers and other participants for more sharing of knowledge and experience in future. I have attended several testing conferences and I already have seen the fruits of attending each conference. Be sure it will be the same for you.

about 9 years agoNot many companies provide testing conference for their employees, any idea how to convince a higher management to be slightly eager to send their employees to conferences?

about 9 years agoYou are right Lian. Not many companies send their employees to testing conferences. The reason can be that management do not see the conferences useful. You can discuss with the management the topics that will be presented in the conference and link them to testing team improvement which at the end will improve quality of the products. This will change management point of view about testing conferences and sure they will start sending their employees to attend.
